Thank You, Olney Baptist Church

Last month marked 15 years at Olney Baptist Church, and as Pastor Appreciation Month comes to an end, I want to express my appreciation to all the members – and former members – of Olney Baptist Church for the privilege of being your pastor.

Thank you for your prayers. Thank you for asking how my family is doing. Thank you for all the kind words and expressions of love and encouragement. Thank you for your patience. Thank you for coming alongside me and helping me serve this church. Thank you for helping me through any setbacks. Thank you for any cards, gifts, or other gestures of love.

It isn’t just how you’ve blessed us directly. When you come to church services or events, it encourages me. When you share with me a testimony of how God has worked in your life or answered your prayers, it excites me. When I see you all love each other, encourage one another, and talk about the Lord together, it makes me grateful to be in ministry.

You welcomed my family and me back in September 2009. I’m forever grateful for all the encouragement, love, prayers, and support that have come my way since — despite my being a very imperfect pastor who falls short of the standards I set for myself. I am a better man today than I was 15 years ago, and that’s in no small measure thanks to you.

I’m likewise grateful for all those who have joined OBC since Jane and I became a part of the OBC family in 2009. I also want to express my affection and gratitude to those who have moved to different parts of the country, joined different churches, or gone home to glory since Jane and I became a part of OBC.

When Jane and I came to OBC in 2009, our kids were little. Now, they are adults. It’s been a joy to watch them grow up in the OBC family, and Jane and I thank you especially for the love you’ve shown to them.

May God continue to bless you and guide us as we move forward together.
